Types of intruder alarm – which do I choose?

Ask your insurance provider which intruder alarm ‘Grade’ is required and whether it should be monitored. MEFS engineers will take the time to understand your business requirements before designing an intruder alarm solution that’s right for both your business and insurer.

      Audible only

      Refers to intruder alarms that activate audible warning devices when an intrusion is detected. As this type of system relies on someone else to contact the police, so it is not necessarily the best solution for businesses.

    Monitored

    1. App-based

    Users have complete visibility of the system, (including camera streaming if this is part of the intruder alarm system.) App-based intruder alarms allow users total operational control, with monitoring from anywhere at any time via the internet, and system event notifications. App-based intruder alarms are available from the App store and Google Play.

    1. Keyholder only

    Should there be an alarm, the keyholder will be contacted directly by the monitoring station without police intervention

    1. Policed

    In the event of an alarm, both the police and the keyholder will be contacted by the monitoring station.
